Ballistic — Legend UI Systems | Apex Legends · Season 17

Ballistic was introduced in Season 17 as Apex Legends' most system-interconnected legend to date. His defining ability — the Sling — introduced a third weapon slot, a first for Apex, requiring foundational changes to two of the game's core systems: the weapons loadout and the inventory.
My work spanned the full UI surface area of this feature. I extended the loadout system to support a third weapon slot and implemented the corresponding inventory UI, ensuring the Sling's unique behaviour — storing a weapon outside the standard two-slot architecture — was clearly communicated to players across all relevant screens. On the HUD side, I implemented Ballistic's Tactical and Ultimate ability elements, designed to integrate cleanly with the existing HUD framework while introducing new real-time feedback specific to his kit.
Because the Sling touches inventory, loadout, HUD, and weapon cards simultaneously, this was one of the most cross-system UI features shipped on Apex Legends.
