This living room is a very small project that I've been working on. For this scene, I wanted to try specific texturing and lighting techniques for complex meshs created from CAD programs. A different art workflow for me that was super exciting to learn!
First I quickly modeled the apartment mesh and UVed with the automatic tool in Maya. After the apartment mesh done I started texturing the apartment using a version of a Triplanar projection shader that I created specifically for this scene. Populating with props was really fun and again I didn't want to spend much time here because this wasn't the target. After the scene completely populated I removed all the default lights and started lighting from scratch. Post-processing finished the project.
